What Do Your Pets Do?

What kinds of things do your pets do during the day?

Lounge around with their tongues out?

Or "ask politely" to go outside?

Do they mind their own little business?

Or make it their business to mind yours?

Are they proper gentlemen at all times?

Or at little more relaxed....

Mine tend to show up anywhere, attitude and all....

Good thing they're all quite cute....

Who could tolerate such behavior otherwise? :)

What do your pets do during the day?

Review with Loving Pets!

Loving Pets Corporation, located in New Jersey, has been providing quality pet products since 2005.   They take a natural, holistic approach to taking care of pets.  This company only provides the highest quality and healthiest products possible so that you can preserve the health and well-being of your treasured companions.  After all, our furry buddies do so much for us, right?

This is how Coy looked when he realized what was in the box.  He hates the mail guy, but he forgave him, just this once.

For this review, I was sent two packages of Gourmet Meat Sticks and two packages of Barksters.

The best thing about the gourmet meat sticks is that they are a little more substantial than a standard dog treat, so it takes Coy more than one second to inhale it.

He gobbled these right up. These also come in four flavors to add a little variety to your pets' diets.

My top honor in this review, however, goes to the Barksters.  These low-calorie treats (about 12 calories each!) contain only products grown on U.S. farms and use ingredients that are rich in vitamins.

It's important to us to manage Coy's weight to avoid joint problems in the future, so the Barksters are a great option to traditional dog treats.  My favorite thing about them, though, is that they are grain-free!  Coy has a grain allergy, so food containing grain causes him to itch and scratch terribly.   We can give him Barksters without worrying about this bothersome reaction.

Visit Loving Pets website to view their entire line of nutritious treats and premium pet accessories.

You can also connect with Loving Pets via their Facebook page and by following them on Twitter.

Treat your pet to the products they deserve!

Let's Keep Our Dogs Healthy!

This post brought to you by Hills Pet Nutrition. All opinions are 100% mine.

To say we love our dog Coy would be an understatement.  He came into our lives totally unexpectedly, and he was spared the fate of a shelter dog.

Being a lab mix, and still being a puppy in lab years (he's 1!), we do our best to keep Coy active. He has boundless energy!  We have a small house and back yard, so that means frequent walks and visits to a friend's pasture and pond.

I was excited when I learned about Hill's Healthy Mobility Challenge.  Hill's food can increase your dog's mobility drastically in just 30 days.  This company realizes how important mobility is to a dog's health and happiness.  You should read up on Hill's Pet Nutrition if you're concerned about your dog's mobility and want to keep him/her active!

As owners of a larger dog, we're especially concerned for Coy's mobility, as labs and other similar dogs tend to experience hip and other joint pain as they age.  Such problems severely limit mobility and can lead to weight and health problems.  Hill's food addresses these possibilities by specifically including ingredients in their food that increase joint health.

Worried about affording a premium pet food?  You can download a Hill's Healthy Mobility Coupon to get you started.  Register to receive $30 in coupon offers and automatically be entered to win Hill's sweepstakes.  They're giving away FREE PET FOOD for a year to 30 people!  That's a lot of mobility!

Are you a Facebooker?  So is Hill's!  You can learn more about the Healthy Mobility challenge by checking out Hill's Pet Nutrition on Facebook.

Let's keep our dogs healthy!  They do the same for us. :)

My Dog Sheds--Review with FURminator

Here in southern Mississippi, it's hot.  Really hot.  Earlier this morning, the thermometer on my back porch read 111 degrees.

Such a blistering temperature doesn't just mean sweating Mississippians.  It means shedding pets.   And when I say shedding, I mean they're coming out of their fur like it's going out of style.

I have used tons of pet brushes in the past but never felt they were very effective.  That opinion changed completely when I tried the FURminator!

Meet my big brown dog, Coy.

He sheds a lot.  The amount is appxomately equal to what our two cats shed added together times infinity.  He's a young, active dog, so I know he's hot in these temperatures!  For this review, I was a send a short-hair medium dog deshedding tool.

Brushing the dog was very easy, and Coy didn't mind at all.  My husband wanted to try it too!

After brushing for only a few strokes, this is the amount of hair we'd removed....ick!

The results have been very, very noticeable.  There's a lot less hair on our floors, and Coy's coat is visibly more shiny.  Plainly put, we love our FURminator and have used it constantly.  It's sturdy, high-quality, and of course, removes tons of hair.

The best feature, by far, of the FURminator, though, is its hair-release mechanism.  Push a button and the hair is released from the brush.  No need to pick it out by hand!  The messy, painstaking, time-consuming process of removing the hair from the brush is the biggest qualm I've had with other pet hair groomers.

My advice to you is two-fold.  One, get a FURminator.  Two, be prepared for the unreal amount of hair you're about to remove from your pet!

The FURminator tool is available for dogs of all sizes and fur lengths.  And of course, they make them for cats and kittens as well!  And if you're worried about ordering online, don't be.  Their customer service department is friendly and helpful and would be glad to guide you in ordering the correct product.

If you'd like to connect with FURminator in other ways, you can visit their Facebook and Twitter pages in addition to their website.

Now get yourself a FURminator.  Coy approves. :)

Review and Giveaway with Premier Pet Products!

I am so pleased to announce this week's review and giveaway with Premier Pet Products.

Here is a little information about Premier:

Our Belief

Premier was founded by pet-people, for pet-people. We believe in providing safe, innovative and effective tools that help improve relationships between people and their pets.

Our Story

With a $5,000 loan, two refurbished sewing machines, and a desire to make a more effective training collar, Sharon Madere started Premier Pet Products in 1989, making dog collars in a spare bedroom of their small home.

The items in today's spotlight are the Busy Buddy Jack and Busy Buddy Gnawhide Rings.

The shape of the Jack is more interesting to the dog than a traditional bone or dog toy, and it comes apart so that you can slip on the treat rings, which provides an extra incentive for your dog to chew on this toy.

Here's our big boy, Coy, waiting for me to throw him his new toy from Premier!

I love that smile on his face!

Here he is, living happily ever after with his new prize.  It's without a doubt his favorite toy.

The Other Man in My Life

I love dogs but have always been more of a cat person.  I still am.

But I've definitely been swept off my feet by the new man in my life.

Coy has been such a joy!

He loves to go wherever we do.  We took him on a recent trip to Lake Martin in Alabama.  Before we could turn around, he'd already chosen his place in the car.

Though we're not sure what our sweet "mutt" is, he is definitely part retriever.  He loves to swin.  Maybe some labrador?

We only adopted him two months ago, but I already don't know what I'd do without him!

Regardless of what he "is," we love him.  I'm far from a dog expert, so I'm no good at speculating.  Any ideas, y'all?

Check Coy out at the Pet Party!

New Craft Assistant (We Got a Dog)

It's true.

We are no longer an exclusively human/cat household.

My husband showed up a few days ago with this nine-month-old cutie.  Totally unexpected.  His job takes him to vet clinics on a daily basis, and this sweet lab mix was about to head to a kill shelter because his owner's apartment didn't allow larger dogs.  Britt heard the receptionist at the clinic discussing the sad tale and of course, he stepped in.  What a softie. :)

We both wanted a dog but had decided (or soooo I thought, ha!) to wait till we had a bigger house.  But I can see why Britt said "I'll take him."

Who could bear the thought of this guy being taken from his home and sent there.

We named him Coy.

He and Amos are "figuring each other out."  He actually gets along pretty well with both cats.

Coy, with his loving demeanor and desire to be at your side and in your lap at all times, has already proven to be such a huge help with crafts and decorating.  Sure, we'll go with that. :)

We love him already!
