Is It Really Fall?

Is it really fall?

The streadily growing okra makes me wonder.

So do the zinnias.

How can people have snow...

Halloween Around the House

Halloween in our house is not confined to the entrance table.  I love to have Halloween around the whole house.

My DIY flower crate now holds touches of October and acts as our kitchen table centerpiece.

My favorite element of the centerpiece is this small, wide-mouth mason jar filled with popcorn kernals and topped with a tealight.  (Terribly inexpensive.)

A small white faux pumpkin and a vintage mason jar with dried okra

Fall berries around a bowl of buttons.

And a few smiling faces that have been with me for years!

Happy Halloween!

Mossy Pumpkin Wreath

I love to "seasonalize" my home.  Especially for Halloween.

This includes my front door.

It's just a wreath form and craft moss...

And a few little pumpkins...

Hung with a burlap bow....

Happy fall, y'all!

A Simple Fall Vignette

I blogged here about our office misadventures, and I'm happy to report that we're looking a lot better these days!  The office is even looking good enough to be the location for an early Fall vignette.

I blogged here about my great product review experience with Dali Decals.  My monogrammed "K" was the inspiration for this vignette.

Here's the little space that needed dressing up.

The chocolate-colored decal was the inspiration.  I shopped my house for the rest.

Muted.

Simple.

Fall.

Black and White Fall: Blackbird Hoop Art

Yes, I admit it's a touch (maybe even more than a touch) early to be thinking about Fall.  But I can't help but be excited for one of my most favorites times of year.

Do you ever get a particular vision for a season when thinking of your decor?  This year, when I picture my "Fall lineup," I think of black and white.  Yesterday, I decided to get the ball rolling with this creation:

Simple, crisp, even stark.  I love the contrasts.

The texture of the fabric is great as well, and I love the frayed-edge look.  The beautiful old metal emboidery hoop was in a craft stash given to me by my husband's grandmother.

The blackbird is made of an old woven wallpaper sample.  I traced the silhouette from a pretty crow image from The Graphics Fairy.

Believe it or not, Fall is on its way!
