I love to crochet. My grandmother taught me when I was little, and I've been a-crochetin' ever since.
Embarrasingly enough, I started this afghan over a year ago. Moving (twice), blogging, crafting, pets, jobs, and my husband (not necessarily in that order!) sort of got in the way.
For me, the edging on this one really steals the show. And my grandmother made herself a blue and white one in the same pattern, so I'll always think of her when I use it.
Cheerful and bright.
Cozy and warm.
Perfect for those cold winter days ahead.
It really is beautiful! I love the soft color and the edging does add the perfect touch! I don't think I've ever put edging on...I'll have to remember this! ♥
ReplyDeleteThat afghan is beautiful. I agree - the edging just sets it off. I am so envious that you know how to crochet. My mother in law tried to teach me when I was pregnant, but I just couldn't do it. That baby is now 33, and I still haven't learned how to crochet!
ReplyDeleteWow that looks so gorgeous! You have great skills! I cannot crochet to save my life and even basic knitting takes me forever (it took me a year just to make a scarf lol). So I totally envy and admire anyone that can create something like that using crochet!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You are very talented and I love the colors. That is something that I want to learn...I've tried a few times(my mom crochets) but the results weren't very good;)
ReplyDeletehow pretty- i need to pick up some new talents!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty. What a special gift to have been taught by your grandmother and the memories you will have forever...wonderful! If you are like me you use afghans all year, I'm so cold natured.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is wonderful!
Blessings,
Cindy
