New Craft Assistant (We Got a Dog)

It's true.

We are no longer an exclusively human/cat household.

My husband showed up a few days ago with this nine-month-old cutie.  Totally unexpected.  His job takes him to vet clinics on a daily basis, and this sweet lab mix was about to head to a kill shelter because his owner's apartment didn't allow larger dogs.  Britt heard the receptionist at the clinic discussing the sad tale and of course, he stepped in.  What a softie. :)

We both wanted a dog but had decided (or soooo I thought, ha!) to wait till we had a bigger house.  But I can see why Britt said "I'll take him."

Who could bear the thought of this guy being taken from his home and sent there.

We named him Coy.

He and Amos are "figuring each other out."  He actually gets along pretty well with both cats.

Coy, with his loving demeanor and desire to be at your side and in your lap at all times, has already proven to be such a huge help with crafts and decorating.  Sure, we'll go with that. :)

We love him already!

  1. Gosh, he's beautiful! Well done to you and your husband for taking him in when such an awful thing could've happened.

We just got our two doggies last month. Two ten-year old greyhounds who were destined for a life in kennels where they were stressed. They were overlooked due to their age and the fact they were a pair.

They have their own special ways of helping, too. One unravels all string and wool (think she thinks she's a cat) so I can see how long it is and the other likes to inspect everything very closely by shoving his head in your lap when you are working on a project!

  10. We've had a total of 4 labs(2 still living). All of them have been sewing assistants.I always cut big projects out on the floor and every one of them has had to lay in the middle of whatever I was cutting out.Our first lab would stand with his paws on my shoulders looking over my shoulder watching me sew! Thanks To Britt and you for saving Coy!

Newly GFC following you (found you through the Follow Along Linky). I'm new to blogging and working on redecorating a condo from scattered-still-looks-like-college-hodgepodge-meets-man-cave and changing it into a cohesive home. One little bit of inspiration and small project at a time. My blog has all sorts of things that make me smile plus I'm cataloging my inspiration there as well. And once I've got a few before and after pictures, I'll be sharing my projects.

Love your blog--thank you for sharing your projects--I just love bloggyland for all the fabulous inspiration and I definitely try to follow anyone who has similar tastes to me and good projects!

  14. I am so happy for Coy! All of our dogs are rescued dogs from the SPCA, it just warms my heart to hear when a dog is saved & adopted into a wonderful home. I think it is so cute when cats & dogs get along too. :) Congrats on the new addition to your family!
