You know what super-summery material I'm loving this hot July? Bamboo!  Not only is it exotic and beautiful, but it's very versatile as well.

 For this review, I received Core Bamboo's large rectangle two-tone woven tray.  It is so beautiful and without a doubt the most unique tray I've ever seen.

There are actually two contrasting shades of bamboo woven together to achieve this look.  One color is a natural blond bamboo and one is a rich chocolate shade.

This serving tray measures 19'' by 13'' and is two inches deep.   It is very sturdy, making it functional as well as beautiful.  It would be perfect for indoor as well as outdoor entertaining!  It would also make a lovely tray to hold magazines and be a catch-all on a coffe table or be part of a centerpiece on a dining room or kitchen table.  I love how the orange in this ceramic pitcher picks of the shades of the bamboo in the tray.

I am so excited and fortunate to have already been able to host giveaways for Jonathan's Lazy Spoon and Cattail Spoon in the past few months.  And now I get to review and give away yet another product from this great company!

For this review, I chose a Jellybean rug--"Cozy Window."  Of course I'd choose a cat rug.  Of course!

The colors of this rug are so unbelievably vibrant.  I can't say how much they pop in my kitchen.  Also, the quality of this rug up close is extremely high.  You can see in the close-up how well the looping is done and how thick the thread of the rug is.

Coy didn't see too terribly thrilled, but I have yet to see a dog get excited over a rug, so we'll move on.

Our cats go far out of their way to avoid stepping on several of our rugs (for no reasons I can discover), so the fact that Amos chose right away not to avoid coming into contact with this one signals to me that it's a winner.

A very pretty addition to our kitchen.

One of my favorite products in their extensive line is the Snack Time rePETe, which is a resuable snack and sandwich bag made of 78% recycled material.  This is sooo much better than mowing through box after box of plastic sandwich baggies!  I know I've been guilty of this.

For this review, I received the Chico Vita Comtemporary Bag in slate stripe.

The Vita bag is 19'' x 12.5'' in size and has shoulder-length straps.  It also has an amazing forty-pound carrying capacity.  That's a lot of groceries! It is machine-washable in cold water and should be hung to dry.  When not in use, the entire bag folds into a small integraded pouch for easy storage.  The pouch (about the size of a dollar bill) can be stashed in your pouch or glove box or clipped onto your purse.  No more single use bags!

I love this bag for several reasons.  Not only is it so unbelievably stylish, but it's also unbelievably multipurpose.  It can go to the grocery store or farmer's market with you, and I'm also thinking it would make a fantastic beach bag.  It would fit tons of towels and kids toys, and you could just rinse the sand right off.  Not only that, but it would make a great overnight bag--perfect for a change of clothes and toiletries!

It's definitely time for us to start thinking in terms of reuse when it comes to grocery shopping, our daily routines, leisure, and travel.  It's better for our environment and our wallets!

Another Review and Giveaway With Jonathan's Spoons!

I'm extremely honored to be doing another review and giveaway with Jonathan's Spoons.

If buying quality merchandise that is handmade in the U.S. is important to you, Jonathan's Spoons is your perfect match. This company operates out of Kempton, Pennsylvania and has been in business since 1979.  Who wouldn't love to go to work here every day?

Jonathan's biggest claim to fame is their innovative Lazy Spoon, which is notched to rest directly on your pot during cooking.  How handy!

The Lazy Spoon is also used by Rachel Ray and was included in Oprah's famous "Favorite Things" list.

Jonathan's Spoons, however, extends beyond spoons into other beautiful and useful kitchen utensils.  I love their spatulas and salad servers.

For this review, I received the Cat Tail Spoon. 

I have an absolute ball cooking with this spoon!  I was preparing supper when my friend came into the kitchen.  The first thing out of her mouth was, "Oh my, where did you get that spoon!"  It's 13 and 1/2 inches, sturdy, wonderfully weighted, and just plain pretty.
